As a designated data processor, it is our responsibility to assist our users in complying with GDPR in every way we can.

Which is why we've begun rolling-out important changes to our automotive sales and lead management system - Dealerweb Showroom - to help our dealers and manufacturers manage data in a way that is fully GDPR-compliant.

The updates include:

  • The ability to remove Personally Identifiable Information (PII), while retaining a record of important historic sales-funnel activity, such as enquiry date, test-drive, offer and order information.
  • The creation of audit logs, to easily identify who within the dealership updated customer details, what was updated, and why.
  • Prompts to ensure that consent was given for all marketing communications.
  • Functionality for dealers to create their own defined Data Retention Policy.
  • The ability to search customer records from all dealerships across a group, and quickly update marketing preferences.

Implementing these key changes into Dealerweb Showroom means users can become familiar with the enhanced functionality ahead of the GDPR deadline on 25 May.

What's more, we recently achieved the ISO 27001 standard for information security management. We hope that this high benchmark will give added reassurance to our users, as it plays a key role in ensuring our own systems and processes comply fully with GDPR.
